Sabr and Shukr

Every sane person in the nation has the same views on the tragedy of the men murdered in Birmingham.I have to admit- I've debated with my self over whether to touch this topic or not.I could easily rant for pages about the "looters"(if that is what you can call them.)However,i won't.

Throughout this tragic, horrendous time- the whole world has seen Tariq Jahan-a father grieving for his son - holding himself with such dignity and patience. His reaction to this whole monstrosity is truly admirable. As it is still an on going topic- most of us find ourselves pondering on how our reaction would have been had it been us in his place.I was all for the police going "American" guns blazing -and that was only when my favorite Miss Selfridge was set alight.I find myself wondering of the poor mothers waiting at home for the men folk to return from Taraweeh;how they must have felt when they got the news;the sibling to have both his brothers gone in an instance;the unborn child never to know his father...Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raajioon.Verily from Allah do we come and to him we shall return.

Many war torn countries across the world have calamities like these (on a much bigger scale) on a daily basis. The ever increasing natural disasters has seen whole families and all they possess gone in seconds.Alhamdulillah we are so very blessed to have never felt any of these things. When we look around at our families let us be grateful - the simple small things that we take for granted- clean water, food, shelter,we only have through the will and grace of Allah.Let us make an intention and effort to be of those who are thankful..for Allah has given us many things to be thankful for.

Another point that has crossed my mind has been the new light that people are viewing us "crazy defensive" Muslims in.For a long time- we have felt the need to defend ourselves.."We are not like this,Islam does not teach this,we are gentle people- just going about our business"..and so on and so forth..(we are scared of dogs for heavens sake!)..Yet there is still some nutter out there who wants to put a downer on Will's and Kate's wedding in the so called name of Islam! It's a never ending circle.(For those interested I thought the wedding was lovely-is it so wrong to be happy for people?!Majority of girls...race religion beliefs aside all love a Cinderella story.)Anyway, back to the topic.Tariq Jahan comes on the scene,a very sane sound individual and showed the world true Islamic behavior.Endless discussions have started."Important people" debating if ethnic minorities have been misunderstood. Are they really what they say they are?!
Now i'm not saying that this will be a major turning point- but what the nation saw was Truth and some truth is good enough for me right now.
We were born and bred in Britain- we don't really imagine a life anywhere else- we wear Niqaab- and yes..we speak English..(sometimes better than others) we have beards, and we use Lynx!We wear Turbans but don't have the urge to find a cave!We pray  five times a day and yet are football fanatics..and yes we enjoy a good cuppa(with a few biccies) in the time of crisis. All in all there is good in everything..
Allah knows best.
I've added a little Zain Bhika  to get you in the mood.

  5. I've always loved Britain, would hate to move anywhere out of this country...we can practise Islam and do enough for the religion in this country which we can't do in most Muslim countries...(like many Arab countries would never let you open all these big Madrasahs teaching proper DarseNizami stuff (well deffo before the 'Arab spring')...dunno bout now..)

There's so much more to love about this country...you can't beat British chocolate, British humour, the works.

Obviously there are many bad points but I can't actually envision being able to do all that we can do here as easily in another country...except maybe the U.S...but they are just something else...don't get me started on Americanisms...
