On our third day in Marrakesh, we decided to visit the old palaces, as well as making a trip to Ourika Valley. Bahiyya and Badi Palace were all within walking distance from our Riad. The weather was good, so after breakfast, we set off. Bahia Palace Inside Bahia Palace Courtyard inside Bahia Palace Orange trees in the courtyard Loved the architecture. Blue skies Ruins of Badi Palace Inside, contained many old Islamic artefacts, including one of the oldest Mimbars, however, no photography was allowed inside Badi  Palace The Palaces were interesting to see if you aren't one for shopping in the souqs all day. For those who do want to shop, there are an endless amount of shops with everything you can think of. We managed to visit both palaces before lunch and had enough time to have a short rest before leaving for Ourika. Salaah break ...

Marrakesh Day 2

Today I managed to retrieve all my old pictures after having initially lost them. I've transferred them off the old USB and now they are just sitting in a file on my laptop, so I thought okay, yes they are from way back in 2013 but better late than never?! Our first stop was to Maison de la photographie, that was walking distance from our Riad. love the riad style  From there we then went to the Bin yusuf madressa(aka Ben Youssef Quranic school) This place was stunning. It is truly a remarkable building. On visiting the madressa I was deeply saddened and humbled. This beautiful Maderssa that had been built in the 14th century, that had been a home to many students and seekers of knowledge for over four centuries,was now just a place for tourists to c...
