No space left to breath

Ever eaten so much, you physically feel immobile?
I've just finished my Iftar and it appears the only limbs capable of movement are my fingers.Yes- i had to go for a second helping and how i wish i hadn't.
My initial plan this Ramadhan has been to eat healthily; not too many fries, pacing myself with water, high fibre suhoor etc
It was all going great, until today (I admit I fell off the wagon- in my defence I overdid it with the water).I was slumped in the sajdah position- groaning and wishing that the dishes in the sink would magically wash themselves. With my dad's words"Faatima your eyes are bigger than your stomach "going through my mind - i remembered the Dua that my dad prays when he overeats.(He prays it every day)

After Meals
Recite:
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَنَا وَسَقَانَا وَجَعَلَنَا مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ
"All praise belongs to Allah, who fed us and quenched our thirst and made us Muslims".

(Ibn Al Sunni)
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي هُوَ أَشْبَعَنَا وَأَرْوَانَا وَأَنْعَمَ عَلَيْنَا وَأَفْضَلَ
"All praise belongs to Allah who filled our stomachs and quenched our thirst, rewarded us and gave us plentiful".

Inshallah anyone who recites this Dua there will be no accountability of the food eaten on the day of judgement.

Allah give us the ability to show restraint when eating and make us thankful for all he has given us. Ameen

Remember me in your Duas

  2. I used to be really bad, but I've learnt that if you quickly get up from the dastarkhan you end up eating less. Coz if you stay sitting, even to keep someone company then you nibble on this and decide to try that and before you know it your stomach is all bloated and you can't even get up. Smaller plate sizes also helps!
