Marrakesh Day 4

  The next places on our list of places to go were Asni, Imlil and Lalla Takerkoust lake. Situated in the foothills of the Atlas mountains, these quiet towns have a lot to offer for those looking for something slightly off road, a little different. The drive from Marrakech to Asni is very scenic and pretty. Within minutes you leave behind the noise of the Medina and are on the open road. Universal sign that you have reached the countryside.   In Asni there are a few cafes where one can find a good tagine for lunch overlooking the river, where women can be seen doing their washing and carpets are laid out to dry on bushes. They have a souk for those wishing to shop and pick up a bargain. Busy markets and bargaining with locals can be overwhelming  and most things can be found in Marrakesh, so I didn't really venture to the souk.
