Catch up

I admit  have really been lagging behind with my blog posts recently,( recently is used very loosely ).

So, with the new year, new beginnings (and all that) I thought why not have a good catch up.
How are we all? All well I hope.
For me 2012 seems to have crept up so quickly, and already we're a few days into January. When I was young a year seemed so long, an endless amount of time. Now, the years seem  to really fly by.
So much can happen within a year, new friendships are made and old friends can be lost.
Babies are born while another life is also taken away. People marry, others divorce.Healthy people can become sick, and ill people can recover from illness.

January 2011 I attended my first ghusal, had two deaths in the family, a wedding and a relation with cancer finding out they no longer need to have treatment. The rest of the year consisted of meeting family members I had never seen before and unexpectedly building bonds with some of them that will last a lifetime. My view on people that I thought would never change have changed drastically. Humans, are we ever evolving?!

Change happens around us everyday, but have we changed at all? If so, for better or worse? Something may have happened that drastically changed your life, while for others it may just be small incidents that has led us where we are today.
Today, my niece is attending her first day at nursery, wasn't so long ago that a friend of mine was sending her son off for his first day.
A long time ago, years seem to go on forever and we couldn't wait till we were grown ups, now we're actually here, hopefully we can use our time wisely.

What were you doing this time last year?
Digging through snow possibly....
Wrap up warm!
