The Happy Marriage Seminar

Looking back to the weeks, prior to my wedding, all I remember is being very STRESSED!

I wasn't worried at all about the actual wedding day, my family could deal with all that, but the days after..you know, infinity and beyond!

Marriage is for the rest of your life, until the day you die(... and some); it's not something that anyone would take lightly.

What would I tell myself in hindsight? Well, firstly, there is not much point worrying about what type of Welan my to be mother in law may or may not use. (Seriously, skinny ones I'm fine with, give me a fat rolling pin and I'm all fingers and thumbs with crazy looking chaps..lucky for me it was a skinny one!)

The main aim for most is to lead a happy, content life with your future spouse and new family. Many people expect marriage to be a constant honeymoon, it isn't. On the other hand, it's not all doom and gloom either. Personally, I believe communication is key. Guys are not mind readers, they don't pick up on things that a girl would pick up on, they don't speak our language! If you have a problem or don't like something you should just say it in a nice diplomatic polite manner,( and that doesn't mean pick out faults in every single thing a person does, its not always your way or the highway...get what I'm saying??!) There are plenty of points that I could go into , but I am in no way or form a "marriage guru".

Start off your marriage on the right foot. Nikah is fulfilling half of your Deen, it is an enormous blessing from  Almighty Allah. Don't get the Molana to do the holy parts and then start your marriage by engaging in sin. There is no goodness or Barakah in anything that has the displeasure of Allah in it.

By all means have the biggest wedding you like, if you can afford it, but don't go against the Shariah. Allah guide us and save us all from the deception of Shaytaan.

So, back to the topic, the main reason for this post is to share with you some talks that I think are pretty good for both married and unmarried..people alike ( The sentence just needed an ending)

Part 2

Another speaker whom I would highly recommend listening to is Mufti Menk. I personally haven't listened to his talks on marriage but I have listened to his Stories of the Prophets series and I'm currently listening to his seerah programme I'll add the link to those in next post Inshallah.Till then take care all.
