Bring back Willy Wonka!

On my recent trip to saudi, I rediscovered Willy Wonka sweets- and I am glad to say that yes I am still loving Nerds! 

Amazing sweets!

You may recall nerds are tiny sweets with bucket loads of flavour ( perfect for hiding and eating..) I could go on but that would just be weird- I'm not getting any comission.


The "Gobstopper"  not only changes colour but taste too- on the downside when your 2 years old they may just about "stop your gob"- but for me - I'd need a  handful- they are way  too small - to claim to be gobstoppers..(yes..i can hear all the jokes.".with the size of her gob.. finding the right size would be bordering on impossible")

I've found that I still love having sweets once in a while- but sadly no longer enjoy the boiled type sweets that I used to like before- namely Werther's original. They used to be my all time favourite sweet- that I would make last forever- but now few minutes of sucking on it and then it gets just sickeningly sweet.

Blasts from the past, that are as great as ever, are Bonfire lollies, (anyone recall them? big black lollies ) kola cubes and astrabelts..yummy!


What sweets are you still loving? Have your tastes changed overtime or is  it just me?

    If anyone finds any anaseed balls please post me some! Not much a fan of sweets anymore, except maybe the red astrabelts..

    im sure someone must still do anaseed balls......
    i use to love kola cubes, pineapple chunks and lemon drops, unfortunately no longer a massive sweet fan although have them here and there
    astra belts yum yum
    i remember gob stoppers and jaw breakers use to love them,,someone gave me a jaw breaker a few months ago but didnt really enjoy it...
    but still love werthers originals, im more of a polo person now

Hello and Salaam  Ramadhan Mubaarak all! My first ever entry (quite an exciting moment for me). Niqabi Tales 1.The Rag

Recently, I have been following Mufti Menk's talks," stories of the "prophet's"(alayhimus salaam)and I have been thoroughly enjoying them. At the moment I've listened to all the talks available online and I am  patiently waiting for the next one to be put up. Anyway, I won't tell you all that he says in his talks, you can just listen and see for yourself. (listen and see?! lame I know) He briefly mentioned, the other day, how one should feel happy, when one is laughed at, for their Islamic dress. Happy that they must be doing something right, to receive such a reaction out of others. The whole thing was quite motivating.
