Late nights

I attended a family wedding recently and had a superb time. The wedding was on a Friday so I took the day off and went late on Thursday night to join the rest of the family. ( Before this I had my mum in law over so was talking till late every night so was already tired when I arrived). The family were having a good sing along (Nasheeds of course), but despite much persuasion, I, funnily enough, did not find the urge to test my vocal cords in public! I did, however, enjoy listening to everyone else and manage to keep the giggles at bay for half an hour or so. It's not that anyone was singing bad, quite the contrary really, they had really good singing voices! I, on the other hand, could barely talk properly after midnight.

As always, before a wedding, I had some sort of clothing crisis. So that had me literally running around Leicester,  half an hour before the wedding was due to start, looking for matching scarves etc. Suffice to say, I did end up wearing the scarf I had already purchased in Manchester, but still managed to turn up late for the wedding!

The Walima the next day was in the evening too. It was a bit like having a visit to Willy Wonkers factory. Some of the things they had were amazing!

First, we were served our meal, as usual, then after a little breather, we were ushered into a room with all sorts of fruit, cakes, marshmallows, and sweets. It was soo beautiful, I only managed to take a few pics, but you'll just have to take my word for it.

Astrbelt anyone?

After our dessert, we were then given more time to "mingle". We were at this point ready to go home, but then we were ushered into yet another room with Tea, Biscuits and rows of Krispy Kremes doughnuts. At this point I was so full but the doughnuts looked divine, how could you say no?!
Even the sugar for the tea was heart shaped in shades of pink and white...

The night, however, didn't end there, a few of us proceeded back to my cousins house, for yet another cup of tea and post-wedding analysis- after so many late nights at this point I was ready for bed..but then from there, my aunt took us all back to hers using the time change as an excuse! Her son just got engaged and she wanted us to meet the new in-laws. They, however, were returning from a trip to London and came at two in the morning.. and proceeded to sit and have tea! I really felt as if I had been transported to a parallel universe where people come to life at night! We ended up getting into bed way after three in the morning!

All in all was wonderful- but glad to be home!
